Women Wearing Flats are DEAD, NOT WALKING on the RED CARPET at Cannes.

Be sure to bring your HIGH HEELS if you plan on attending the Cannes Film Festival in the Future. If you haven’t heard, the annual international Film Event in the South of France refused to allow many women to Walk the Red Carpet if they weren't Wearing High Heels

Perhaps the enforcement of this policy was a sincere French Fashion Faux prevention effort to stop celebrities wearing flats this year with the goal of killing
any chance of seeing a stampede of Nike shoes underneath Designer gowns moving across the red carpet in the future.

We certainly hope this year’s red carpet enforcement was not an idea hatched by a group of Fetish Fascist French Men who have no idea what it feels like to walk up and down the Croisette in four-inch heels.

We here at LALA*Style have always believed that it should be Women’s Choice regarding her Style Options. And with that responsibility we assume the consequences of any errors in judgement. To wit -- below are some beautifully elegant flats that would have no problem leaving glamourous footprints up and down any Red Carpet

"Blue is one of my favorite colors for summer since it’s so versatile. Pairing it with other hues and mixing and matching bright bold colors is not only a fun way to wear different items in your closet, but is so on trend!"

"Animal prints are always so much fun to wear and add so much to an outfit. I always try to look for prints that can be worn with multiple items in my wardrobe. The colors on these flats are so neutral that you will easily be able to transition them into your summer wardrobe."

"We all love shoes that make us look taller and our legs long and toned! But think about the last time you wore an uncomfortable, or even painful pair of heels for fashion’s sake -- you were miserable the entire time, right?

With a wedge, you don’t have to give up height OR comfort! And with so many styles to choose from, there’s a wedge to compliment any outfit and let you walk tall!"

"I adore the color white, especially for summer – whether it’s a romantic eyelet dress, wide leg silk slacks or this stunning Rick Owens top. White is chic and mixes well with everything -- it instantly freshens your entire outfit. And this top is a real stunner with the beautiful peplum waist and keyhole back! I can’t get enough of pieces like this!"

"A cute beach bag is a MUST for summer. Finding one that can transition from the beach to lunch to dinner is nearly impossible. This bag is the perfect size with such a modern print on it that you can carry it everywhere and still look chic!"

"Well said, Becca!
I just want to add the attached zipper purse is a smart touch. No searching for keys or credit cards in the bottom of your bag!"

The FASHION INDUSTRY FOREVER!

“The Battle of Versailles,” written by Robin Givhan, is a new book detailing the intrigue and excitement of a 1973 charity event to raise money to fix up the decaying Versailles palace in
France.

The Fashion show wound up becoming a revolutionary happening! Here's just a few important ways the event changed the fashion industry –

For the first time, African-American models were prominently featured on the runway.

Cool, popular music was played during the fashion show

All the models were encouraged by their Designers to walk the runway, not as moving mannequins, but to showcase the clothes they wore with a more theatrical or spontaneous vibe.

The biggest change which ended up enduring from the Versailes Battle was the competition put American Designers on the Fashion map.

The charity runway competition highlighted Designer wear that was not only striking, but more in sync with the lifestyles of the modern woman, circa 1973.

Givhan’s book covers the hidden history, ego battles, and celebrity gossip, but also supports the premise – that the 1973 Fashion Show was a watershed moment in the fashion industry.

We at LALA*Style love fashion history.

Though it was not planned, the release of  the book highlights how the titans of the fashion industry back then, continue to be players in the modern world of fashion.

Oscar De LaRenta

At our LALA*Style Store we have clothes and accessories from the fashion houses of the titans who did battle in France fifty years ago. And on Memorial Day... yes, of course honor the brave warriors who fought to preserve our freedom.

GIVENCHY
But we suggest that you also spend a few seconds thinking about those brave 5ashion 5ive American Designers who gave up their designs so we could all escape the potential bodage of a brutal French Fashion Regime. Their victory at the Battle of Versailles allowed fashionistas all over the world (some not even born when the actual battle was fought) to purchase the Designer clothes and accessories of our choice!

YVES SAINT LAURENT
In our LALA*Style Store we are featuring some items for sale from the same French Designers who were losers of the 1973 Fashion Fight.
Why?
UNGARO Couture
GIVENCHY
Because we believe nothing defines "freedom" better than buying Fashion items that rock, even if they are Designed by the losers of the Battle of Versailles.
